My immigrant journey, intertwined with the vibrant culture of New Zealand, inspired this series of works. Each hand-crafted clay stick represents a unique identity, reflecting the individuality that enriches our community.
Made from various clays and blended with different materials, these sticks were created in batches, each subjected to distinct temperatures and firing environments. Over the course of four months, this meticulous process became a celebration of the diverse stories we carry, expressed through the medium of clay.
This work has won the New Zealand ECC Students Craft and Design 2021 – Ceramic Award.
